Decline in U.S. Native-Born Labor Force and Employment During in 2024

In 2023, the U.S. native-born civilian non-institutional labor force and employment levels increased by 1.1% and 1.2%, respectively, compared to 2022. However, during the first 11 months of 2024, both the labor force and employment levels declined by 0.4% and 0.8%, respectively, relative to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate among native-born workers rose from 3.7% to 4.0%.
