💾 Global chip sales hit a record $686B in the 12 months to June 2025, up +19.8% YoY and growing at a long-term 8% CAGR since 1990.


🌍 Shifting market shares:

·  U.S. staged a comeback: Americas’ share peaked at 35.2% in Q4 2024, but slipped to 30.6% in Q2 2025 as Asia regained momentum.

·  China: $182B in 2024 (28.9% share)

·  Rest of Asia: $155B in 2024, surging in 2025

·  Europe: $56B (8.1% share)

·  Japan: $47B (7.4% share)


🇺🇸 AI Boom & U.S. Dependence on Taiwan

·  U.S. sales soared in 2024, but eased in 2025.

·  Taiwan now supplies 35% of U.S. chip imports (vs. just 2% in 2018), hitting a record 56% in June 2025—a major strategic shift.


📈 Asia hits new record: $112B in Q2 2025, led by Rest of Asia (+29.4% QoQ), as global manufacturing capacity diversifies beyond China.


👉 The semiconductor map is being redrawn by AI demand, U.S. resurgence, and Asia’s continued dominance.
