EU Trade Surplus with the U.S. vs. Trade Deficit with China

From the third quarter 2022 to August 2024, European Union's goods trade surplus with the U.S. increased by 23% from €150 billion (TTM) to €184 billion (TTM), while goods trade deficit with China decreased by 29% from -€400 billion (TTM) to -€282 billion (TTM). In a longer-term landscape trade surplus with the U.S. increased by 36% from August 2018 to August 2024 (TTM), while trade deficit with China increased by 89%.
